Extended List of Beaches in the Manhattan and New York City
Orchard Beach - The only beach in the Bronx, Orchard Beach was created in the 1930's it was affectionatley nicknamed The Rivera of New York.
Orchard Beach also has available, wheel chairs that can slide along the beachy sand. The beach opens daily beginning in May.

Fire Island - Sunken Forest, Boating and Sailing, Landscape and nature all are abundant here.
You can arrive by ferry, as there are almost no cars on the island. Wining and dining are open 7 days a week. Fire Island has prestine beach fronts and it could be your ultimate get-a-way. It boasts a privately owned Summer Club as will as a community called Dunewood which has about 100 homes with a NO SHARE policy. And Atlantique is located at the narrowest edge of Fire Island. Their sand dunes are near the 50 homes located here.

Rockaway Beach - I mostly included this one because of its cool name, and The Ramones sang about it. But seriously, Rockaway has things to do includng beach and surf, and an art deco bath house.
The peninsula and a beautiful welands estuary adds such charm to Rockaway.

Get to the beach early and enjoy incredible breakfast tacos, fresh bagels and smoothies before your fun in the sun starts. During the beach season life guards are on duty from 10am to 6pm. Facilities at Rockaway include sports fields, picnic and barbque areas. Also has fitness equipment, roller hocky, eateries and restrooms and showers. Talk to Lee for homes available in these areas.
