Lake Kanotah Community Events and Information
History of Lake Katonah - The developers , Warn, Carpenter and Company of White Plains New York bought 125 acres including the lake! The lake was enlarged to its present 26 acres in 1927. This included a clubhouse and model homes to intice summer homes for the welathy of New York City who want to get away.
With WWII behind us, and a housing shortage, young families began buying up home lots to be year-round Westchester County lakeside homes. By the 1970's the lake area was well saturated and looks very similar to what we see today.
